Shiho nage, consists of a projection technique involving the flexion of uke’s arm at the height of his shoulder causing a lateral imbalance and leading the attacker, as a rule, to a fall backward (or to an overturned drop if the manoeuvre is more fluid). This technique is named after the directions its execution takes both in the imbalance and in its final execution.
